ABOUT THE ARTIST

Gordon Mackintosh is a visual artist and designer based in the Treaty 1 Territory of Winnipeg, Manitoba that practices under the name "Mackintosh Design". As a "student of experience", Gordon is constantly evolving as an artist, using the natural world to shape his art. Gordon's minimalist style is focused and refined yet playful. His work focuses on familiar landscapes, the nuances of human expression, and the idea that you can convey emotion, sense of place, and atmosphere with just a few brush strokes - letting negative space tell just as much of a story as the space that is filled. Gordon's work is social art that is both accessible and inviting.

Gordon has practiced and studied art and design at both the University of Winnipeg and Red River Polytechnic, and is a member of Aceartinc., Manitobans for the Arts, and CARFAC.

Gordon is based out of wonderful Westwood with his wife, son, and daughter
